Last December, the community was awarded the "Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing" label.

The Hauts-de-Seine department ended the year with a new label. On December 17, the "Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing" label award committee decided to "unanimously and unreservedly" award the "Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing" label to the Hauts-de-Seine department, where La Défense is located.unanimously and without reservation" to the Hauts-de-Seine department, where La Défense is located, the "Responsible Supplier Relations and Purchasing" label (RFAR). This label rewards French companies or public entities that have demonstrated sustainable and balanced relations with their suppliers.

This label is an extension of the approach initiated in 2010 by the French Ombudsman for Businesses and the National Purchasing Council, through the creation of the Responsible Supplier Relations Charter, which now has more than 2,000 signatories, gathered around ten key commitments.

The standard is based on the ISO 20400 "Responsible Purchasing" standard. The first and only label recognized by the French government for responsible purchasing, it is awarded for a period of three years, with an annual verification of the major issues and compliance with the progress plan.

"This award confirms the Hauts-de-Seine department's long-standing commitment to quality in its relations with suppliers. This new label is in fact an extension of the "Responsible Supplier Relations" label that the Department was the first local authority to obtain in 2017," the department said in its press release.

With the award of this label, the department says it wants to "amplify its approach to the economic world and its desire to give the full measure of its commitments to economic actors, especially SMEs and VSEs. For the local authority, "this is a strong signal of the modernity of public action, which tends to organize a balanced and partnership-based relationship with its suppliers so that everyone can benefit from the best knowledge of the expectations and needs of all".

"This award also recognizes the internal professionalization process and guarantees the maturity of the purchasing function on the basis of a demanding, credible and enforceable standard, both internally and externally. The press release concludes: "This award also recognizes the internal professionalization process and guarantees the maturity of the purchasing function on the basis of a demanding, credible and enforceable standard, both internally and with regard to suppliers, based on an independent audit carried out by AFNOR (the French standards association)".
